Arkansas Gambling and Lottery Laws

Welcome to FindLaw's section on the gambling and state lottery laws of Arkansas. Arkansas is very restrictive with respect to gambling, limited mainly to horse racing, and does not allow wagering on cards, roulette, slot machines, or any other such game of chance. And although Oklahoma has several casinos operated by Native American tribes right near the border with Arkansas, no such casinos are allowed in Arkansas. However, the state does operate and promote an official lottery, which was established as a way to raise money for state university scholarships.
