Florida Statutes of Limitations

When civil lawsuits are filed in Florida the state’s statute of limitations provides the deadline for when a suit must be filed. Miss this deadline and the lawsuit is banned. For criminal charges, the statute of limitations prohibits prosecutors from charging for the commission of a crime after the passage of a specified number of years. Each state has different statutes of limitations for various types of civil actions and crimes. Click on the links below for more on Florida’s statutes of limitations.
