Edison, a township considered “one of the best places to live in the United States.” Its native son and namesake, prolific inventor Thomas Edison, set up his research laboratory here. You can thank the “Wizard of Menlo Park” for illuminating your daily life with a light bulb and your movie-going pleasure with the first motion picture camera, among his 1,093 patents.
However, as Middlesex County residents know, creativity and inventiveness won’t necessarily help you solve legal problems. Almost everyone, at some point, needs to go to court for one reason or another. If you are a juror, witness, or party in a case in Middlesex, Somerset, Hudson or Warren Vicinages, here’s a list of courthouses in your area.

Parking: Adjacent to the Family Court Building, there is a parking deck with various fees. There are handicapped spaces available. There is also metered parking on various streets in front of and around the Court House. Also consider public transportation.

Note: The Children’s Waiting Room is available to parents that have business in the Courts, and is free of charge. It’s on the first floor of the Family Court.

Note: The Adult Probation division supervises all defendants sentenced to Probation by Superior and Municipal Courts. They have specialized caseloads for Megan's Law Sex Offenders, Domestic Violence , Community Service , Mental Health, and Drug Court Caseloads.

Parking: Click here for detailed parking directions. Street parking is available in the area along Main Street and along the streets immediately surrounding the courthouse. Street parking is metered with a 1-2 hour limit. Most city-run parking lots also metered spaces with a 2-hour limit. The lots on either side of Davenport Street have some 5-hour and 12 hour meters.

Note: This is a joined Municipal Court for the northern portion of Hunterdon County, including the following municipal entities: Califon, Hampton, Clinton Borough, High Bridge, Clinton Township, Lebanon Borough, Franklin Township, Lebanon Township, Glen Gardner, and Tewksbury Township.
